Site visit and tour of Juniper Hill School (2-3hours)

  • Visit Juniper Hill School and have a tour with Anne Stires

  • Meet and talk with teachers and students--if they are onsite

  • Discuss mission/vision, philosophy, schedules, curriculum, and have open Q & A time

 

Site visit and assessment of partner school outdoor areas (time length varies, dependent on scope and number of classrooms, age levels, etc.—start with a base of 3 hours)

  • Visit school property an possibly surrounding area (conservation lands, town property)

  • Assess for use/creation of outdoor classroom areas

*Additional time: Creation of proposal on how to get started with establishing outdoor learning spaces (varies—start with two hours of writing and research time)

Stepping Outside the School Building with Students For the First Time: Tips and Tricks for How to Get Started (half-day training)

  • This is the practice of moving slowly and starting small

  • Establishing your “Why?” and keeping yourself safe and sane

Risk Management and Safety Basic Training, Professional Development for Teachers and Administrators (day-long workshop)

  • Begin laying the foundation for risk management and safety when teaching outdoors

  • Part I: Preparing--A.M., Part II: Putting Some of it into Action--P.M.

Risk Management and Safety Training Next Level, Professional Development for Teachers and Administrators (day-long workshop)

  • This training is for those who have completed the Basic Training and want to reach deeper and higher. Included are: Carving, Sawing, Fire, Off-campus Trips (into the “Beyond”)

Fees and Pricing Structure*

Juniper Hill School Observation Days: $50/person for 2-3 hour visit

  • Hourly rate for a bundle of services: $100/hr. for site visits to schools, consults beyond 15 minutes, preparing documents and offering proposals

  • Lead Presentations, Keynotes: $1200

  • Workshops at Conferences: $300-500 (dependent upon length of workshop: 1-2 hours)

  • Professional Development, Teacher Workshops: $1000/day, $600/half day

  • Summer Institute for Early Childhood and Elementary Educators at Juniper Hill School (Teaching With Nature: An Introduction to Nature-Based Teaching and Learning): $1200 and the option to take it for Antioch University graduate credit, additional $400

*fee for service, plus travel expenses (mileage, flights, rental car, accommodations, food)
